Summary/Objective
TenCate Protective Fabrics is currently seeking an Environmental Manager to join our team at the Molena, GA facility. This position is responsible for assisting TCPF in achieving and maintaining compliance with environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and internal TCPF environmental policies. The Environmental Manager works closely with all plant operations on air, water, and waste projects, collects and analyzes environmental data, and liaises with State and Federal agencies on compliance and permitting issues.
Essential Functions

- Manage multiple environmental compliance tasks, meet deadlines, and complete projects within budget.
- Generate, prepare, and write environmental reports and supporting documentation.
- Solve environmental challenges related to air, water, and waste regulations.
- Prepare regulatory reports and documentation, including but not limited to:
- Engineering calculations
- Compliance reports
- Tier II and TRI reports
- SWPP/SPCC Plans
- Air, water, and waste permit applications
- Collaborate with plant personnel and environmental specialists to address compliance issues and ensure operational effectiveness.
- Inspect all plant facilities to evaluate compliance with environmental regulations and identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and conduct environmental compliance training for employees and contractors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental inquiries, inspections, and audits.
- Prepare responses to regulatory inspections or audits and manage corrective actions for any noted deficiencies.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Foster a sustainable culture of environmental excellence through employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Lead the Land Application System (LAS) Team at the Finishing Plant, ensuring proper operation, management, and maintenance of the system.
- Oversee all operational and environmental aspects of the LAS to maintain compliance with permit and performance requirements.
- Supervise, develop, and guide LAS team members in daily operations and compliance activities.
- Ensure all documentation, sampling, and reporting related to the LAS are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain and utilize a detailed understanding of Georgia state environmental permitting requirements.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role may use highly specialized equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The candidate may be exposed to noise, dust and various chemicals, and moving mechanical parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and non-skid shoes.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch and occasionally lift up to 50 Ibs. Must be physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to heat, flame, chemicals, and noises.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended hours and weekends may be required.
Travel
This position requires up to 25% travel. Frequently travel inside the local area to other plant locations.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated experience preparing environmental compliance reports, including Air, SARA Tier II/TRI, Wastewater, SWPP/SPCC, and related plans.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply environmental regulations to ensure industrial compliance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing proficiency.
- Experience delivering presentations and conducting training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Georgia Class III Wastewater Operator License required, Class I Wastewater Operator License preferred
