What You’ll Do:

Primary Duties. Assist in the approval of land-related capital requests. Develop comprehensive knowledge of assigned sites and establish a working rapport with operations. Work with functional areas in land management responsibilities. Handle all renewals, amendments, and all lessor communication. Assume primary responsibility for maintaining all leases and other agreements in good standing. Responsible for negotiating and closing all acquisitions, dispositions, leases and other land related transactions in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Will work with brokers, lawyers, title companies, surveyors and the like to close real estate transactions in a timely and efficient manner with minimal supervision.

Support Post Mining Uses. Support the rehabilitation of sites to optimize post-operational use and disposition. Assist with divestiture of surplus properties.

Support the Land Management Team. Support and contribute to the Land Management team and continually foster established Land Management Best Practices.

Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills You’ll Need:

Education. Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, accounting, land use/planning, geology, or related field.

Experience. Real estate, land, property, and/or industry-related knowledge or experience preferred. Working knowledge of geographic information systems.

Knowledge. Requires knowledge of comprehensive land management functions and related record-keeping. Ability to research, review, and analyze property tax and land title records. Assist with closing real estate transactions.

Detail-Oriented. Display a passion for long-term goals and stay the course amid challenges and setbacks. Requires scrupulous attention to detail.

Organizational Skills. Strong demonstrated sense of urgency, organization, and coordination skills to handle simultaneous priorities and projects.

Technology Skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of geographic information systems is a plus.

Communication. Strong oral and written communication/interaction skills are required. The ability to positively interact and influence a broad and diverse audience. Communicates clearly and listens carefully in an open, candid, and consistent manner.

Trustworthy. Establishes trust with team members, stating clear expectations and accountabilities. Quickly establishes rapport with internal and external customers to develop trust that their concerns are heard and responded to promptly.
