Nature of Duties:

Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses; prepares standardized course syllabi using a provided template; assesses students’ satisfactory progress based on established course grading requirements. May be required to attend professional development training as required for specific classroom or online course delivery. Teaches Commercial Truck Driving courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the industry environment while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Provides instruction in the theory and practical applications of Commercial Truck Driving. Measures program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.

Selected candidates must be able to work morning or evening hours, Monday through Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Commercial Truck Driving from an accredited institution or Accredited Industry Training.
  • Current CDL Class A License
  • Three (3) years out of the past seven (7) years of unrestricted Class A experience.
  • Clean MVR for the past seven (7) years.
  • Current DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Accredited industry training CTD program and ten (10) or more years of unrestricted Class A experience.
  • Directly related teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
  • Online teaching experience.

Salary/Benefits:

  • $23.00 per contact hour.
  • All adjunct positions are part-time, temporary positions. Hours are offered based on student enrollment each semester.
  • Adjunct positions do not include benefits or a promise of future full-time employment.
