POSITION: DIRECTOR OF CAMPUS OPERATIONS – FORSYTH/DAWSON CAMPUSES

REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT

SALARY RANGE: Low to Mid $80's annually, depending on education and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Campus Operations is responsible for the administration and direction of the College’s Forsyth, Dawson, and Lumpkin campuses; and responsible for fostering effective cooperation, coordination, and communication across the different LTC divisions – Academic, Student Affairs, Administrative Services, Institutional Effectiveness, and Economic Development at these campus locations.

MAJOR DUTIES:

· Promotes the availability of the Forsyth, Dawson, and Lumpkin campuses and their offerings to various public and private organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and businesses within the community in a professional manner;

· Acts as a general contact and liaison for Lanier Technical College and the K-12 school systems in the Dawson, Forsyth and Lumpkin counties;

· Exercises general supervision over campus operations at these locations;

· Ensures that all student support services and enrollment management operations are consistent with College policy;

· Maintains coordination with the College’s instructional and student services offices on the Forsyth and Dawson Campuses;

· Advises students as needed;

· Assists with registration/orientation activities and with various recruitment activities, i.e. Dual Enrollment;

· Addresses/resolves complaints and needs of students, employees, and outside customers as needed;

· Assists LTC Marketing Dept. with promoting the campuses by developing effective plans for publicizing the services available for student recruitment;

· Administers and maintains an operating budget for the Forsyth, Dawson, and Lumpkin campuses (less than $10,000 total);

· Works with Academic Deans to coordinate the classroom matrix each semester at the Forsyth and Dawson campus locations;

· Provides leadership for committees, special projects, and initiatives as assigned;

· Supports campus needs assessments and works with the Academic Deans to prepare a New Program Request (NPR);

· Assists all College Divisions with growth and service opportunities within the community;

· Ensures that each campus is functioning properly and well maintained, and promptly alerts the Director of Facilities with any building emergency or maintenance issues;

· In conjunction with College Police, coordinates the safety of all personnel in times of weather and other safety emergencies;

· Coordinates with College Police to ensure policies and procedures relating to the administration of building security, parking, and emergency preparedness are followed;

· Represents the College in a manner which supports the values, mission, goals, and standard for professional conduct associated with Lanier Technical College;

· Supervises full and part-time staff assigned to Campus Operations;

· Other work-related duties as assigned by President.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in business or education from a regionally accredited college or university, and five (5) years of work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of this position.

COMPETENCIES:

· Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education;

· Knowledge of the College’s admission and financial aid guidelines and procedures;

· Knowledge of TCSG and college policies and procedures;

· Ability to provide leadership in high-pressure situations;

· Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs;

· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public;

· Effective oral and written communication skills;

· Effective decision making and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (in addition to minimum qualifications & competencies):

· More than five (5) years of work-related experience;

· Previous work experience in a post-secondary environment, especially in an administrative or academic capacity;

· Master’s degree in business, education, or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university
