Location: 270 Peachtree Street NW, Atlanta GA, 30303. This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule which may be subject to change as business needs dictate.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, a settlement examiner reviews proposed stipulated settlement agreements for workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules and agency guidelines. Makes appropriate determination to approve or reject settlement agreements in a timely manner. Contacts parties when additional data or changes to settlement agreements are needed. Maintains consistent, customer-focused orientation in all communications with parties to the claim, internal co-workers, and members of the general public. Appropriately generates, maintains, and corrects data from forms and computer reports.

Candidates must have excellent customer service skills, including both oral and written communication. In addition, candidates should be able to demonstrate superior attention to detail. Ideal candidates are self-starters who work well with others. Other Duties as assigned

State Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/ GED AND four (4) years of experience in interpreting nd applying laws regarding program eligibility.

  • OR two (2) of experience required at the lower-level Adjudicator 1(LEP010) or equivalent position

SBWC Preferred Qualifications: (if applicable)

  • Experience in workers' compensation

Internal Applicants:

In accordance with Internal policy an applicant must have no active disciplinary actions to be in good employment standing. Actions that may disqualify an applicant include letters of reprimand (active for 12 months after issuance date); suspension without pay or disciplinary demotion (active for 12 months from the effective date); Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and Leave Restriction Plans (active until 12 months after the date of conclusion). In addition, an employee must have an overall e-Performance rating score of three (3) or higher on their most current evaluation. Please note that Memorandums of Concern are not considered disqualifying factors. Human Resources may remove any employee from consideration for selection who is pending a disciplinary action; however, if the action is resolved in the employee’s favor, he or she will be allowed to compete.
