Job Title: Campus Life Assistant (PT)

Description: The Campus Life Assistant assists the Campus Life Director with organizing, coordinating, and implementing student activities for all campuses and with operating Campus Life facilities.

Major Duties:

  • Assists with the daily operations of The Mark A. Ivester Center for Living and Learning and all other Campus Life facilities
  • Assists with orienting and training Work-Study employees
  • Contributes to the planning of student activities and the recruitment of students for participation
  • Ensures proper safety measures are followed
  • Provides support and assistance to the Campus Life Director and Campus Life Coordinator
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Competencies:

  • Oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to reach, stand, kneel while performing duties and ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Valid GA Driver’s License
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Skill in working with the public in a customer service environment
  • Maintains current CPR certification

According to a federal law known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, NGTC is required to disclose “statistics concerning the occurrence of certain criminal offenses reported to local law enforcement agencies or any official of the institution who is defined as a “Campus Security Authority (CSA) .” This position fits the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA), and is therefore subject to annual CSA training and reporting any criminal offense directly to campus police.
