GPHL is seeking a Senior Project Manager for implementation of the laboratory information system (LIMS) for advanced molecular detection tests and for onboarding of new technologies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the leadership of GPHL’s LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), including leading and advising diverse staff (IT, Laboratory scientists, bioinformaticians) on building new tests into the LIMS, i.e., writing test result reporting language, testing new builds with emphasis on the building of new test codes for Advanced Molecular Detection tests.
  • Development of laboratory test logic diagrams for outcomes of laboratory tests with emphasis on genomic or other advanced molecular detection tests.
  • GPHL’s point of contact, leads and manages linkage of the LIMS to electronic health records and SENDSS (surveillance system). This includes defining technical requirements for lab test requisitions & linkage to other electronic systems.
  • Managing quarterly quality reviews of GPHL’s test directory and menu of services and implementing updates: Directing laboratory staff to submit change requests, facilitating leadership review and implementing changes.
  • Responsible for managing and developing contracts for LIMS implementation and support.
  • Responsible for managing periodic quality reviews of GPHL websites and externally facing electronic systems.
  • Overseeing the work of contracted LIMS IT professionals, account managers and website managers.
  • Skilled in Communications. Ability to develop and implement lab Website content and informational banners for specimen submitters.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Biomedical Science.

  • Must have experience in genomic pathogen testing or clinical testing in a hospital or public health laboratory.

  • Be able to work on multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Great communication skills and customer service oriented.

  • Worked with at least two different LIMS at different institutions or successive LIMS versions.

Associate degree in a related science area from an accredited college or university, certification as a Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP), and three (3) years of job-related science experience; or Associate degree and two (2) years of experience at the lower level Medical/Clinical Specialist 2 (LSP011) or position equivalent.
