Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor - Design & Media Prod. position in the Design and Media Production Department. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta.
The Design and Media Production Department at Atlanta Technical College encompasses a broad range of interdisciplinary fields, including graphic design, film and video production, post-production, motion graphics, and animation.
Under the general supervision of the Department Chair, the Full-Time Instructor - Design & Media Prod. will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction within their area of specialization, as well as teaching foundational courses in computer applications and design principles. The successful candidate will demonstrate professional expertise and industry experience in one or more of the following areas: video and film production, graphic design, or motion graphics and animation.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Develops program and course outlines, goals, objectives, and instructional materials.
· Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.
· Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives through assessment and grading.
· Requests, orders, and maintain supplies, books, and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
· Maintains program certification and integrity requirements per SACS, as appropriate.
· Prepares and maintains all required documentation, administrative reports, and adherence to state travel and purchasing policies.
· Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area, including the management, computer lab assistance, and custodial responsibility for equipment owned by the program.
· Meets with students, staff members, and other educators including consistent communication with the Department Chair to discuss students’ instructional programs, active student advisement, mentorship, and other issues impacting the progress of students.
· Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, including community outreach, program promotion, active recruitment of potential students, and the formulation and execution of strategies to support the college mission.
· Coordinates and manages student film festival activities, participates in SKILLS USA, and serves as an advisor for the DMPT in Focus Club.
· Participates in campus committees and the state peer consortium.
· Assists the Department Chair with curriculum development; and
· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
· A Master’s degree (M.A. or M.F.A.) in a field related to Film Production, Post-Production, or Graphic Design AND two (2) years of teaching experience.
· Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud.
· If specializing in Graphic Design, proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is required.
· If specializing in Film, proficiency in Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Media Encoder, Pro Tools, and DaVinci Resolve are required.
