Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor - Phlebotomy (Part-Time) position in the Health & Public Safety department of the Academic and Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.

Under general supervision of the Customized Contract Training Department of the Economic Development division, the Adjunct Instructor - Phlebotomy (Part-Time) will be a part-time faculty member that will teach in the Phlebotomy Technician program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students develop essential Phlebotomist skills. This position involves creating and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of the students. Through classroom, lab, and clinical instruction, the Adjunct Phlebotomy Instructor will ensure students gain the comprehensive skills, knowledge, and professionalism required for success as entry-level Phlebotomists. This is a part-time position, working up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:

· Teach courses in Phlebotomy.

· Deliver instruction in areas to include Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Anatomy & Physiology, Clinical Procedures, Electronic Health Record (EHR), Medical Law & Ethics.

· Develop lesson plans aligned with CAAHEP standards and curriculum frameworks.

· Facilitate skill labs to include Phlebotomy, Vital signs & patient assessment.

· Evaluate student performance using formative and summative assessments.

· Assist with clinical site placement and evaluation.

· Maintain communication with externship / preceptor sites.

· Participate in program review and outcome assessments.

· Maintain documentation for accreditation and state regulatory compliance; and

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in phlebotomy, medical assisting or related health field.
  • Two (2) or more years of directly related work experience.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in phlebotomy or related subjects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:

· Current phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent)

· Three (3) or more years of recent phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience.

· Teaching experience at a technical college or post-secondary institution.
