POSITION TITLE:

Industrial Operations Technology Instructor - Program Director

The Industrial Operations Technology program teaches the foundational skills in installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as advanced training in the integration and servicing of robotics, programmable logic controllers, sensors, and intelligent technologies. The Industrial Operations Technology Diploma is designed to equip students with the expertise needed to succeed and grow professionally in today’s automated industrial and industrial related environments.

The instructor will provide classroom instruction for the Industrial Operations Technology Diploma Program. Under general supervision, the faculty member will establish a classroom environment conducive to student learning and success and perform related duties such as advising students on academic and occupational curricula. In addition, this faculty member is responsible for assessing student learning outcomes and program outcomes; coordinating the program’s recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities; and assisting in the budget process of requesting and maintaining instructional equipment and supplies for classrooms/laboratories. Committee participation and other department, college, and community projects are expected. The faculty member will also participate in professional development activities to enhance skills in various modes of instruction and knowledge of learning.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree in a related field with three (3) or more years of proficient in-field experience or a diploma in a related field with five (5) or more years of proficient in-field experience.
  • The following may be substituted for two or more years of proficient in-field experience: SACA certifications (Silver): C-201, C-202, C-204, C-207, C-208, C-209, C-210, C-255 (Gold for these certifications will be required within six months of employment) *OR* SACA Certified Industry 4.0 Automation Systems Specialist.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related field from an accredited institution.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Commensurate with qualifications. Benefits include state paid holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
