Winpak Films Inc. is seeking a Controls Technician to join their Maintenance Department based out of Senoia, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for launching, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading automated control systems across a variety of production machinery. Your expertise will directly support production continuity, equipment reliability, and process improvements aligned with Winpak’s mission of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with OEM reps to understand logic documentation and troubleshoot new installations.
  • Install and upgrade control systems compatible with legacy equipment.
  • Organize and manage PLC files and ladder logic backups.
  • Train Maintenance Technicians on PLCs and automation systems.
  • Provide technical support for infrastructure, modification, and implementation of control systems.
  • Partner with IT for system integration and ensure proper backups of control programs.
  • Troubleshoot failures and assist with preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Design and maintain control systems for operator-machine and machine-machine communication.
  • Provide data analysis for control investments and support lean and quality initiatives.
  • Carry out validations and qualifications for equipment and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, including controls systems.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work off-hours and weekends as required.
  • Electrical controls experience with PLCs and drives (various manufacturers).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Controls, or Industrial Electronic Technology.
  • Experience in shop floor and preventive maintenance processes.
  • Familiarity with Process Controls, MES systems, and documentation.
  • Strong data orientation with analytical and project leadership skills.
  • Experience managing backups and IT systems integrations for automation equipment.

Additional Details:

This position is from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday.
May require additional hours during scheduled shutdowns or emergency response.

This position is 100% onsite at our blown film extrusion facility in Senoia, GA.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move objects up to 90 lbs., climb stairs, and work in hot, noisy environments. Requires 80% standing/walking and 20% sitting.
