Position Summary:

  • The Compliance Analyst supports the Trade Compliance Manager by providing analytical and administrative support for customs and trade compliance matters, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations
  • Oversees and ensures the accuracy of the inventory and customs records for the foreign trade zone
  • Admit and withdraw product from the zone, control and reconcile inventory and provide support and training to all staff involved and impacted by FTZ operations

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities will include some, or all, of the following:
    • Perform and/or monitor and ensure product movement in and out of the foreign trade zone are accounted for and declared properly to U.S. Customs (includes daily admission 214, 3461, 7501, and 7512)
    • Reconciliation of system inventory between PYMAC system and OneSource system, execute adjustments to inventory as needed, and proactively address and resolve any inventory issues that affect the FTZ
    • Perform routine audits of all FTZ operations, including but not limited to:
      • Customs filings
      • Physical security
      • Inventory control
      • Recordkeeping
    • Product Classification - Analyze and establish appropriate classification of product to meet U.S. government requirements including the HTS, ECCN, and COO
    • Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiency and facilitate or support project activities to complete improvements to the trade compliance processes
    • Develop and/or provide support in the general area of Trade Compliance reporting, analysis and maintenance of master compliance data and system accuracy
    • Preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports to U.S. Customs and the FTZ Board
    • Work with Customs during on site audits and provide information as required
    • Keeping up-to-date with regulatory changes: Trade compliance analysts stay up-to-date with changes in local and international trade regulations and ensure that their company's trade practices are in compliance with these changes
    • Serve as internal resource for information requests regarding import/export compliance
    • Develops and provides necessary compliance training to operational personnel
    • Implement and adhere to all YMMC Integrated Management System policies (including requirements of, but not limited to: ISO9001, ISO14001, C-TPAT, FTZ, etc.)
    • Perform all other duties necessary to ensure business success and conformance

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

OR

  • 5 years experience with an Associates degree

Other Required Skills:

  • Valid U.S. Customs Broker license, or ability to obtain is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years foreign trade zone experience and/or related trade compliance role
  • Demonstrated application of project management and problem solving techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with applied experience working in a team environment
