MAU is hiring a Roof Inspector for our client in Macon, GA. As a Roof Inspector, you will perform detailed inspections of roofing systems on commercial, institutional, and residential properties to evaluate conditions, identify deficiencies, and ensure quality and compliance. This is a direct-hire opportunity. This role involves daily travel to job sites within a 1.5-hour radius of Macon, GA.

Shift Information

Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of roofing inspection, installation, or consulting experience
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • Roofing or building enclosure certifications (e.g., RRO, RRC, RWC, or equivalent)
General Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and industry standards (NRCA, ASTM, IIBEC preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inspection reporting software
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Physically able to access rooftops, ladders, and scaffolding in varying weather conditions
  • Professionalism when interacting with clients, contractors, and team members
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspections/projects
  • Commitment to safety and quality assurance
Essential Functions
  • Perform on-site inspections of roofing systems (low-slope, steep-slope, metal, membrane, etc.) for new construction, existing buildings, and forensic investigations
  • Document roof conditions through field notes, photographs, and sketches
  • Assess roof performance, waterproofing details, drainage, flashing, and building enclosure integration
  • Identify deficiencies, potential risks, and recommend corrective actions
  • Review construction documents, specifications, and contractor submittals related to roofing and waterproofing
  • Monitor roof installations for quality assurance and compliance with project requirements
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and communicate findings to project managers, clients, and contractors
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and consultants on building enclosure projects
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards while working on-site
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of roofing systems, building codes, and industry best practices
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed primarily on-site at construction or existing building locations. This includes working on rooftops, accessing ladders and scaffolding, and being exposed to varying weather conditions.
