Overview
Provides administrative support for the Human Resources Department and serves as an “intake” for employees by assisting with issues, answering questions and redirecting them as necessary. Assisting with other functional duties such as presentations, data analysis, etc.
Responsibilities
- Receives and assists employees in HR answering questions and/or redirecting as them as necessary
- Responsible for the management of Medical Leave policies and communicates with the HRIS Technical Specialist to ensure employee T&A records are updated as needed.
- Administers New Hire Orientation for Human Resource Policies & Procedures and updates necessary presentation slides to ensure all items are current.
- Responsible for responding to Unemployment Claims and participating in Appeals.
- Performs employee Exit Interviews and track results for analysis purposes.
- Coordinates Human Resources company-wide projects such as blood drives, company picnic, March of Dimes donation, etc.
- Serves as a backup for the HRIS Specialist as necessary for data entry.
- May support recruiting and hiring with applicant tracking, job postings and interview processes.
- Responsible for mailroom; receiving/distribution of daily mail and faxes and maintaining the postage meter and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Effective interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, handling multiple tasks with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to take direction from multiple sources.
One to two years’ experience in an HR Generalist role preferred
HR/Business Degree preferred
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
Two to three years of administrative experience in an office environment.
Strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
