Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The coop/intern will assist in duties listed below in support of ME, Quality Control, Continuous Improvement, Design, Test, Safety, Environmental and Manufacturing Floor Supervisors
  • An internship in engineering position will help you discover what you would like to specialize in, as engineering is a very broad field with wide range of career paths
  • Intern / Coop will support engineering or manufacturing staff with projects related to the engineering group they are assigned
  • This may include:
    • Supporting full time staff to improve the performance of products
    • Analyze the impact of the products/improvements/methods they develop or the systems on the environment and on people using them
    • Work to perform root cause analysis of manufacturing downtime and quality problems
    • Test manufactured products to maintain quality
    • Estimate the time and cost to complete projects
    • Implement Kaizen(man,machine,method,material) improvements

Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in planning of new or modified production process
  • Design or improve equipment and machines to ensure efficiency and reliability
  • Testing and evaluating production process to achieve stable result
  • Help with the physical installation of the machinery
  • Learn the responsibilities of an engineer
  • Fulfill administrative duties around the office
  • Run errands for the engineering staff
  • Incorporate academic knowledge into hands-on work
  • Help create documents or presentations
  • May present project findings to other staff members

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In pursuit of 4 year Engineering degree
  • Experience in manufacturing environment desired
  • Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem solving techniques
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
