MAU is hiring a Graphic Designer for our client in Atlanta, GA. As a Graphic Designer, you will prepare digital artwork for print production. You will have a deep understanding of graphic design principles, print production processes, and the use of pre-press software. You will ensure that artwork meets print specifications, is optimized for the chosen printing method, and is ready for platemaking or digital printing. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
  • 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Graphic Design or related field
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • In-depth knowledge of pre-press software and workflows
  • Understanding of various printing processes (offset, digital, screen printing, etc.)
General Requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with color management software (i.e., Pantone, X-Rite)
  • Knowledge of print finishing techniques (i.e., die-cutting, embossing, foil stamping)
  • Understanding of print production costs and estimating
Essential Functions
  • Receive and analyze design files from clients or internal departments
  • Check for design accuracy, completeness, and adherence to print specifications
  • Convert design files into print-ready formats (PDF, TIFF, etc.)
  • Ensure proper image resolution, color modes (CMYK, RGB), and file structure
  • Adjust and manipulate images for optimal print reproduction
  • Ensure color accuracy and consistency across different print mediums
  • Create color profiles and manage color separations
  • Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to identify and correct potential print issues
  • Verify fonts, images, links, and color consistency
  • Ensure proper bleed, margins, and crop marks
  • Arrange artwork pages for efficient printing, considering paper size, folds, and binding
  • Create imposition layouts for various print jobs
  • Generate digital and hard copy proofs for client approval
  • Make necessary adjustments based on proof reviews
  • Collaborate with designers, pre-press operators, and printers to ensure an accurate and timely production
  • Provide clear and concise instructions for print production
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address design and production concerns
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
