SUMMARY:

This role provides leadership and line management to team members by coordinating workloads, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice. Additionally, the team leader works to ensure production targets, key performance indicators and quality and safety standards are met. This role is backup to the supervisor, responsible for knowing proper procedures for workers to follow and comply with.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work/Audit to ensure employees and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner to meet delivery requirements while achieving quality and safety standards, following Yamaha Quality Principles.
  • Support manufacturing to achieve safety, productivity and quality targets through process design, optimization projects and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Ensure that team members follow defined manufacturing procedures and comply with quality requirements.
  • Responsible for training employees about products and processes, as well as identifying needs.
  • Responsible for daily indirect management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
  • Ability to work production lines roles, as needed.
  • Must complete Yamaha’s 5-Star training within 2 years.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong work ethic, on-time attendance performance, with a high degree of reliability is required to be successful in this role.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and skills required
  • Must interact positively and effectively with co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Enough physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs. repeatedly); standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, working overhead and operating motorized equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) required.
  • 1-year manufacturing environment experience using air and hand tools, required.
  • 1-year Yamaha experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required, including Microsoft Office suite (proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel), required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

100% of your time is on the manufacturing facility floor. This position requires employee to frequently work in a fluid, fast paced environment. No travel is required in this role.
