Objective

Drive the future of mobility with us as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician with Nemak in Augusta, GA. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems supporting die-casting machines, hydraulic presses, and auxiliary equipment in high-pressure die-casting (HPDC) operations. This position will also support preventive maintenance initiatives, equipment installations, and cross-functional collaboration with automation, electrical, and robotics teams.

Shift Information
  • Multiple Shifts Available
    • First Shift | Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • Second Shift | Monday to Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in mechanical and hydraulic maintenance required, preferably in HPDC or metal casting industries
  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical and hydraulic schematics
Preferred Education:
  • Associate degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex hydraulic issues
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Ability to identify risks and implement precautionary actions
  • Knowledge of process improvement methods to support operational efficiency
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Projects
  • Knowledge of the SAP PM module
  • Ability to prioritize work, analyze data logically, and collaborate effectively across teams

  • Ability to support team engagement and people development
Main Responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems in die casting equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime
  • Analyze hydraulic schematics and troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic issues
  • Assist with commissioning and installation of new equipment
  • Collaborate with automation, electrical, and robotics teams to support operations
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance best practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
