- 2+ years of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) experience in a manufacturing environment
- Qualification in a health, safety, or environmental discipline
- OSHA/NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Experience gathering, analyzing, and reporting health and safety data and statistics
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulatory compliance
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant computer systems
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to collaborate with others to complete tasks and implement process improvements
- Professional appearance, reliable attendance, and strong timekeeping skills
- Support the HSE Manager in implementing and maintaining effective workplace health and safety programs.
- Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Review, update, and communicate health and safety policies and procedures throughout the organization.
- Support compliance with applicable workplace health, safety, and welfare regulations, including required training and reporting.
- Conduct and regularly review risk assessments for workplace equipment, processes, and operations.
- Document and investigate workplace accidents, recommend corrective actions, and monitor the implementation of safety improvements.
- Manage employer liability claims and coordinate with insurers, legal representatives, and other external partners.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and checks to identify hazards and improve safety performance.
- Coordinate fire drills, fire alarm reporting, and lone-worker safety procedures.
- Develop and maintain health and safety policies, safe work systems, and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate health and safety documentation, training records, and compliance reports.
- Assist the HSE Manager in implementing a structured program of documented safety inspections and audits.
- Coordinate employee health and safety training programs to promote awareness and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with external health and safety consultants to deliver training and other safety-related services.
- Stay informed of changes in relevant health and safety legislation and communicate updates to the organization.
- Gather and analyze safety data, prepare reports, and provide updates to Human Resources and senior management.
- Serve as a health and safety ambassador, encouraging employee engagement and a proactive workplace safety culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
