MAU is hiring a Planning Engineer for our client in Covington, GA. As a Planning Engineer, you will plan and coordinate manufacturing jobs, material requirements, inventory, and production priorities to support customer demand and efficient sheet and plate metal manufacturing. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
  • Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Occasional long hours and weekend work may be required

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
  • 1–3 years of material planning experience
  • Experience with MRP, ERP management, and work order management

General Requirements
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a large volume of work while prioritizing critical tasks
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills
  • General understanding of ERP data and data governance

Essential Functions
  • Plan and coordinate manufacturing jobs in support of the financial plan.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate material is available to support demand.
  • Analyze demand patterns to support work order release strategies aligned with financial targets.
  • Coordinate with operations planning, production, warehouse, and logistics teams to support smooth material flow.
  • Support regular inventory audits and implement corrective actions to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Investigate and resolve material flow delays quickly and efficiently.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, with an emphasis on on-time delivery (OTD) and shortage management.
  • Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to review bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, router updates, and material rejections to expedite processing and release.
  • Identify potential material substitutions to expedite work completion.
  • Work with the Director of Operations and Master Scheduler to establish production schedule priorities.
  • Interface with sales, quality, purchasing, production, and management to translate customer and material requirements into manufacturing processes that can be followed internally and externally.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, material yield, cost reduction, quality control, and production scheduling.
